There comes a time in everyone’s life where they encounter the real life of the local version of National Health Services.
upfront, just let me be strait and say that I have the utmost respect for everyone working in our local health care services. They work hard, are very competent, and while have enormous responsibilities they still manage to provide care and compassion for their patients.
But what surprised me, and Kamilla, in our encounters with the different hospitals and service institutions we came into contact with when Victor Elliot needed follow ups or other types of care, was the overwhelming amount of papers we always needed to fill out. Each place had their own papers, and it seemed little got shared between the hospitals. Of course each patient has an online profile where you can retrieve discharge papers and test results, but its all that in between, all these papers you really need to store at home and bring to the next appointment, because these papers, the ones you actually fills out again and again and again, are of course not online, and of course not shared between the health care institutions.
We quickly learned to bring it all… at any give time we would carry 2-3 folders packed with papers, including our own observation notes, papers from social services, and other health care professionals such as statements, test results, scan charts, etc. Together with all other equipment, and of course Victor Elliot and our daughter Vesper Marie, that meant the car was packed, meaning PACKED, when we would go to hospital appointments. I didn’t really matter if we were to stay for 1 day or 3 days, the amount of gear and equipment was always the same.
With the invention of the 24-Hour Clock it became quickly clear that we also had to provide support for uploading pictures, video recordings from the iPad/phone and of course store pictures of papers, charts, scans etc.
With relative effort we now support this in our first version of Victor(y) Care and its quite satisfying to take back the control having all your documents and pictures with you on the go. For one thing is sure, for us being at the the end-user side of the table, it enables us to put all the power in the hands of you as the user, and not having to wait for the State to solve the paper empire for you anytime soon.
Thank you for supporting Victor(y) Care!
